Easter Sunday

Our Easter started off with a family trip to Fort Boise where the Snow Geese are staying for 2 weeks. They are on their return trip from migrating this winter. Supposedly they fly in by the thousands and it is an “amazing site”. What we saw was nothing “amazing”. The kids and I goofed off in the car and then Robert took us up the road a bit. We saw another group of birds in some trees that we had to stop and see. With our windows and sun roof rolled down we peered at the birds. Cedar Waxwings were the ones that Robert pointed out. –apparently they are called Cedar Waxwings because their wings look like they dip them in wax- As we were gazing at the birdies we heard a funny plinking noise. We look up and see that there is another group of Waxwings right above us and they are POOPING ON MY CAR! Luckily I was not violated by their bowels, but it was a very close call. We quickly returned to our original stopping point to await the splendor of Geese, but as luck would have it, they were a no show and we had to head back to get ready for church. What a disappointment. Not only did we miss the Geese, but I had bombs dropped on me. Oh well, I guess there is always next year.
After church we went to Grandma Cindy’s for dinner. Aunt Dessa and soon to be Uncle Aaron hid eggs for my kids to find. Times like this makes being a kid and letting the kid inside us out so much fun. My kids were on a sugar high for at least 3 days after. It was great to have a yummy dinner, play games, and chat all night.

2 who want to talk about it:

Birding is Fun!

I have to say that the snow geese fly-over was amazing, but they just happened to be on the otherside of the river instead of flying right over us, so the sense of amazement was far less than it could have been.
