well, she really isn't a "baby" any more, but she is still my babe. Sense she has been growing in my belly I have worried about her. I am not the worrying type of mom, so it is a different feeling for me to experience. When she was around 9 months Toria, being a big helper that she is, thought that Claire would love a bite of her peanut butter sandwich. It was at that time that we found out that she was very allergic to peanuts. Sense then we had her tested and found that she is allergic to egg whites, chicken and soy as well. Poor thing. It was a struggle to find things to feed her.
We got that down and felt like things were good, but the other night -while I was out at the midnight showing of Twilight which I enjoyed- Robert was up with our baby Claire because she couldn't breath. She would wake up screaming about every hour and then Robert would calm her and lay her back down. He was afraid to leave her, so he made a little bed on the floor in our room for her to sleep in. Friday morning I took her to the doctor and they confirmed my fear. She had Asthma. They had to give her steroids to open her lungs and luckily we already had a breathing machine from when Toria had pneumonia. So this little dinosaur will be her little friend from now on. At first she was terrified of the nebulizer, but now she loves to sit there and hold it herself. Now that the steroids helped her open her lungs, we will be on a "maintenance plan". This foggy weather we are having doesn't help her that much, but we just stay inside and play.

Aw poor baby Claire!! She is getting so big! My friend's kid has tons of allergies (but not to food) and Asthma, its such a bummer for these little guys and a little scary too. I hope they get everything all figured out for her.
Awww. That poor little angel!! I'm sorry.
I am sorry. Having asthma isn't very fun when you are a kid. I know that from experience. I feel bad for little Claire. She looks so cute though with the breathing machine on. I wish that they had those when I was little.
She is getting so big. How sombering to hear about her troubles. Give her a big hug for me.
Brave claire! Glad she has such loving and attentive parents.
Sorry to hear about Claire. Asthma sucks. Audrey had to do breathing treatments when she was a baby but she hasn't since that first winter. My doctor said they can't really diagnose asthma until kids are 3 or 4. A lot of little ones have it and then grow out of it. So maybe Claire will grow out of it too. There's hoping!
I feel your pain Sister! Carter has the peanut allergy and cold induced asthma. Both are really scary... but thank goodness for medicine. Claire is lucky to have parents who are so on top of these things. Keep up the good work!
so sad! Hopefully the asthma gets under control! poor girl
I hope that she is feeling better! It is so scary when they are that sick! Her nebulizer is awesome! Wyatt's is not even close to that cool.
