In my class I took this last semester Sister Tanner gave us great ideas for special occasions. One of them being this chair cover with a pocket on it. Each one has a name on it and for the month we are writing each other love notes. On Christmas Eve we will read them. My kids are so excited about it. We start each letter saying I love you because and then they fill in the rest.
This year for our advent calendar we are also doing service days for each other. They are spaced through out the entire month so it will be fun to see what the kids do to serve one another.
We also have a visitor in our home this month. His name is Kirby and Santa sent him to us. When he returns every night from visiting with Santa he'll sit in different places and it is always fun to wake up and find his new spot. We are so excited to have him in our home and hope that we can be a good example to him so that he tells Santa that we were nice to one another.

Lots of fun going on in this home! I love that my kids are home all of December. (off track in year round school) It is so much fun for me to do all these activities with them. The best part about it is that they never tell me their bored. We only do one thing a day, but it is enough to not have them complain all day long.

7 who want to talk about it:
Your chair covers turned out so cute!! Way to go!
I love the chair cover idea and the fabric you chose is so awesome! The elf is too cute, what a great idea!
I love reading your blog! What great ideas you have- totally puts Christ back into Christmas- exactly what our family needs!I may copy!
Love love love it! How exciting. I am itching to do it to. I like your advent from before also. Maybe when I move back you can help me make my own. Way cute!
I just love your ideas! I think I could still manage trying the service idea with my advent. I just need to get my decorations up. Have fun with your projects. One year we hung a white sock for the Savior. We each wrote an idea of what gift we would give him for the following year. IT started out great but then somehow I lost the notes to open the next year. I like the ideas of notes for each other!
Your! kids are SO lucky! I love the chair cover you made...Super CUTE! I really wish I would have been blessed with the "sewing gene" but that was not in the cards. I hope to learn soon so I too can start fun traditions like that! Maybe you could tutor me? P.S. that diet coke was AWESOME!!! Thanks
Jessica, I am very interested in your advent calendar. Did you make it or purchase it? I want one bad so any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!
