I have been telling quite a few people about how my little people did so well during conference that I thought I might as post it for all.
We started off with Saturday's sessions by racing home from Kyle's soccer games and i thought that the kids would be a little crazy, but I had play stations set up on the floor and each kid took a station and played quietly during both sessions. The second session we ended up listening to the last hour in the car on our way up to Avimor, but they did really good with that too. The stations consisted of Lego's, barbies, and little Disney figures. IT WAS FABULOUS!
On Sunday morning after we woke up we read scriptures as a family. The verses we choose were Mosiah 2: 5-6. In them they talk about how King Benjamin's people all gathered around in their tents with their doors facing the temple where King Benjamin was speaking. Afterwards we went upstairs and set up our tent with the door facing the TV so we could hear the prophets speak and the kids got blankets and pillows. After our big breakfast of the prophets we sat in our tent and watched conference. (TO our old BYU buddies- do you guys still do that too?- Anyway, they did great. We allowed them to have an activity book, but that only lasted maybe 10 minutes and then they just sat there. The second half they we playing with toys in the tent, but all in all, it was a great conference in the Mortensen home.

4 who want to talk about it:
That is such a good idea about the tent!! Love it. I'm so glad your kids did so well too!! Way to go Mom! :)
I love the tent idea!
We always let them do stuff from the church bag so they're still doing quiet things that they do on the Sabbath. Conference packets are very useful too!
Jessica, You are so clever! I love all your ideas. Thanks also for forwarding the packets to me. They were a big help in our home. Way to go! Thanks for the other great tips. (Any ideas for keeping the husband awake?)
We totally still do a breakfast of the prophets and think of you guys and the Stewarts every time! Love your idea for stations during conference.
