Burp Cloth Tutorial

A few months back a friend asked me to post a tutorial on my burp clothes. Sorry it took so long, but her it is.

Things you need:
Cloth diapers
Lace
Ribbon
pins
scissors
Frey Check

*I like the Gerber prefolded (not padded) kind. They wash up really nice and not too much shrinkage.

Step 1. Prewash your diapers. -If you don't then they will shrink and your ribbon doesn't so they look funny.- I iron mine too. You don't have to, but I like to.

Step 2. Measure you ribbon and lace to fit the width of the cloth. I think it is about 15 inches. Layer the cloth, lace, and ribbon in that order with the lace hanging off the edge. *They have lace that doesn't have a rolled edge. It is just a cut edge. I highly recommend buy that kind because it is so much easier and flatter to work with.
Pin ribbon and lace to cloth.

Step 3. Sew the ribbon onto the cloth.

Step 4. Cut the excess ribbon off the edges and apply Frey check to the edges. This will prevent your ribbon from freying.

Step 5. Use it! Flip the ribbon side of the cloth over your shoulder and start patting the for that burp. Or you can fold it nicely and give a set of them as a gift.

Super easy! Enjoy and Happy burping!
