Dear Claire

It seems like it was just a few moments ago that I was heading into the hospital to meet you for the first time. Even after 3 ultrasounds told me otherwise, I was certain that you, because of how the pregnancy was, would be a boy. My doctor just laughed at me and when the time came to bring you into our family she asked me again what I wanted. I told her that as long as you were a chubby babe then I didn't care. And CHUBBY you were!

The moment the doctor saw your face she started laughing and saying that I got my wish. That you were the chubbiest babe ever! Weighing in at 9lb. 6oz. and Curly red hair to boot! I saw your little face and I was in love.

I just love her grin in this picture. And she LOVES her dress!

You have brightened our home with you silliness. I love to see you growing and maturing even though I want to keep you little. You have learned your alphabet and have started to spell words. I am constantly amazed at your imagination and I love watching and listening to you. Especially when you don't know that I am. Just two days ago you wrote out your name-by yourself- and we were totally shock!

Ok, the e is before the r, but hey, she is only 4. 

You love to sing and dance and twirl around like a princess. We will either see you in a dress (costume dresses) or in your pajamas. A few times this past year as we are shopping you start singing a primary song. It starts off quiet, but then you get louder and louder until you notice someone is looking at you. You can't stand for people to comment on your cuteness. You usually say to me, "Why are they talking to me? I don't like it!"

Claire was building a snowman, which turned into a castle. 

You love to be outside. Especially in the snow. You want to sled, build snowmen, make snow angels, and just play. You can hardly wait to go to school with your brother and sisters. You tell me that when you are 5 your will go to school and then you will be a mom. You have a white dress that you have deemed your wedding dress and you talk about your little friend back in Idaho who will be your husband.

You are so stubborn (like you dad... well, maybe a little like me.) You DID NOT want to go to primary. You wanted to stay in nursery, but now you love your teachers and talk about them constantly. You want to and go play at the neighbors house want walk there by yourself! I know I was letting your siblings do that even when they were younger, but I just can't seem to let you go.

I know the it is inevitable that you will be growing up, but don't go too fast. I love you oh so much and want to squeeze and kiss you forever!
