This is the Place

Over Mother's Day weekend we took to the kids to This is the Place Park here in SLC and it was a lot of fun. The buildings were fantastic. It still amazes me that a family with 7 kids back then could all fit into a Home that is small that a bedroom of today. Here are just a few of our highlights...
Anne LOVED the animals and the animals loved Anne

Robert caught a turkey

Kyle chased that silly thing forever

He was finally brave enough to grab it

I went on a wild goose chase.

Claire loved riding Honey

Victoria did too.  There was an escape artist piggy in the petting area so the man running the horse ride put Toria up and had to leave to catch the piglet. Then all the lambs got out, so she had to sit on that horse for a long time before the ride started

Anne is such a natural with all animals

We saw the Black Smith at work making a door handle

We learned about our country and presidents (from the 1800's)

And Robert forgot his homework. Naughty- Naughty!

We toured Brigham Young's pink country house.
Why is it pink? We were told that pink used to be a boys color.

(these are actual happy faces. They were loving our little adventure!)

Kyle "milked" a cow. (so did the girls)

They had these cute little house the girls loved to play in

Victoria in her go-to pose! I love it! Missing tooth and all

Kyle couldn't take being the only boy any longer I guess
Robert and I had never been here growing up, but I think this is must see when you come to Utah! There was a little area that was closed that I guess has mining for gold and a train around a pond. We also enjoyed a train ride/guided tour around that park along with Brigham's donuts.
It was a great way to celebrate Mother's Day Weekend.

2 who want to talk about it:

Jill

we've never been either! I'm adding this to the "to do" when we visit Utah list.

Dan and Laura

You did some cool things! I've only been there a few times and my kids are too young to really appreciate all that's there. :)
