Claire's Party

Claire in her sleeping beauty dress I made
Claire turned 5 this year so that meant she got to have a friend party. She was so excited months before and was very specific on what she wanted. She wanted a princess party (Aurora is her favorite... aka Sleeping beauty), pink everything, and a pinata. I tried my best to make her wishes come to reality, but I was afraid that living in Utah in February wouldn't help. We were lucky enough to have a great day that day, so even the pinata was on the agenda of fun.
The "magic" tent. (At the end when the fairies change her dress from blue to pink... that is what this is representing)

Claire's name garland

Birds flying around and sitting on her picture garland

We had to have our little owl friend sitting on a tree branch!
After all the guests arrived we had a special visitor...
Princess Aurora herself! (she was the cutest little high school student)
Claire was so shocked and excited she could hardly talk at first, but soon warmed up and loved every minute of it.
She brought a special crown for Claire
Princess Aurora told the kids her story and had the kids help her. The funnest part of that is that the boys were the ones that piped up with all the correct answers.
She taught them how to act, walk, curtsy like a princess (or prince)
She played some games and decorated crowns. The kids loved her and she was so great with them. (I highly recommend the Princess Party people!)

Claire had the first shot at the pinata.

All the kids got a cupcake to eat while Claire opened her gifts

After the friend party we had Roberts parents still here and my sister and her family stayed for dinner and cake.
The party turned out great and Claire was on cloud nine for days, so I can now breath a sigh of successful relief!

5 who want to talk about it:
